Destination 1 : Thankot Chandragiri Jesus Boys and Girls Hostel, Chandragiri-3, Kathmandu

Situated around 11 km from main city of Kathmandu (Thamel), Thankot Chandragiri Jesus Boys and Girls Hostel is located at Thankot, Chandragiri-3, Mattikhel, Kathmandu. This place is famous touristic spot of both national and international tourist as Chandragiri Cable Car (A popular ropeway spot) is located here. Being fully a common resident of Newari and Tamang community, this place has a beautiful green scenario. The hostel currently gives shelter to 10 kids including boys and girl. Children here very cute and friendly who always wants to welcome new volunteers. The like to play extra curricular activities like football, badminton, Ludo and other indoor games. They also like to help volunteers showing the surrounding locality and they also like to teach the volunteers local Nepali and Newari Languages.

Destination 2: Shree Chunidevi Maa Vi (Local Government School), Chandragiri -4, Kathmandu

Located around 11 km from main capital city of Kathmandu Valley, this is a government secondary school with peaceful surrounding and amazing students. Established in the year 1990, this school is equipped with fine insfrastructure. Around 200 students are currently admitted in this school. This is one of the best teaching-learning platform in the whole Kathmandu Valley. The school organizes various inter-school programs time to time and has been set up a good reuptation in the educational sector of Nepal. These school also serves as hub of knowledge exchange, bridging generations by passing down local wisdom and knowledge from elders to younger generations. Overall, local school stands as an essential institution that nurture cultural awareness, linguistic diversity, and community cohesion among their students.

Destination 3: Cyma Nepal Orphanage Home, Sangla, Tokha-1, Kathmandu

Cyma Nepal Orphanage Home is located in Tokha-1, Jhor, Sangla which is about 11 km from the Ringroad of Kathmandu Valley. It consists of 16 orphan kids (girls) only. The orphanage is located very beautiful place which consists of  Shivapuri National Park (around 1 km from the children home). Similarly, the place Jhor is also famous for beautiful waterfalls. Regarding the children home, the kids are very lovely and kind hearted, always welcoming coming volunteers from around the globe. There is a temple of Shiva near the waterfall which opens on Saturdays and Mondays. There is also a zipline near the waterfall that was constructed to boost the tourism.

Destination 4: Shree Chunidevi Sikshya Mandir Basic School, Bungamati, Chunikhel, Lalitpur

IIt is a local primary school located in Bungamati, Lalitpur. Situated around 5km from Ekantakuna, Lalitpur (Ringroad), this school consists of 115 students recently. Most of the children studying in this school belong to economically deprived families, those have moved from various remote parts of Nepal. The families of the kids are general factory workers who are facing very much difficulty in sustaining even day to day living. Equipped with almost newari community people, this place is also consists of few World Heritage Sites such like Rato Macchindranath Temple, Karyabinayak Mandir. Volunteer coming to this location will definately enjoy volunteering in the school along with visiting new historical and cultural site, at the same time.

Destination 5: Shree Ramayan Chaap Maa Vi (Government School), Shivapuri-3, Sallemaidan, Nuwakot

Located at Nuwakot, a remote corner of Nepal, the government school stands as a testament to both the challenges and the unwavering spirit of education. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes but isolated by rugged terrains, this school becomes a haven of learning for the local children. With limited facilities and resources, teachers here often go above and beyond to create a conducive learning environment. Despite the geographical barriers, the students’ enthusiasm for education shines brightly, reminding us that the thirst for knowledge knows no bounds, and that even in the most distant areas, the seeds of learning can take root and flourish. The total number of students in the school is currently around 250. In the heart of Nepal’s remoteness, this government school stands as a resilient sanctuary of learning, illuminating a path of knowledge amidst challenging terrain.

Destination 6:  Bal Jyoti Basic School, Galchhi-5, Koilikharka, Dhading

 Established in the year  1989, this is a primary level school of a remote part of Nepal, Galchi-5 Dhading. Nestled in the remote heartland of Nepal, the government basic school stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the local community. Despite the geographical isolation and limited resources, this school is a vital hub of learning for children who might otherwise have limited access to education. The dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide a nurturing environment where students can acquire fundamental knowledge and skills. With a curriculum tailored to the region’s needs, the school not only imparts academic lessons but also preserves the rich cultural heritage of the area. Destination 7:  Yuba Pratibha Secondary School, Khokana, Lalitpur

Establihsed in the year 1989, this school is located at Khokana, a typical newari village. Both local students as well as students from othe part of Nepal has been studying in this school. Khokana is a former Village Development Committee (VDC) which has been merged with the neighbouring VDC’s of BungamatiChhampi, Dukuchhap, Sainbu and other 38 VDC’s to form the Metropolitan City of Lalitpur in Lalitpur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. Talking about the students, the kids are very lovely and friendly. They can speak both in Nepali and Newari was well as English as they study a lot of subjects in English Medium. The school represent a commendable stride towards modernizing the country’s education system. By offering instruction in English, it aims to equip students with a globally relevant skill set, enhancing their prospects for higher education and future careers.

Destination 10:  MOTHER HOME, Khokana Dobato, Lalitpur-25 

Comprising of total 6 girls child at Mother home with limited resources but boundless compassion, the caregivers provide a nurturing haven where orphaned children find solace and a sense of belonging. The close-knit environment fosters deep connections among the children, who become a makeshift family, supporting and uplifting each other through life’s challenges. Despite the odds, the caretakers work tirelessly to ensure that these young lives are shaped with love, education, and hope. This small orphanage embodies the resilience of a community determined to make a positive impact, embodying the belief that even in the face of adversity, every child deserves a chance to thrive and dream of a brighter future.
